Frontiers Records, bisher schon Label-Heimat vieler alter Heroen des Rock und Hardrock (Alan Parsons, Extreme, Tesla, Thunder, Crashdiet, John Waite...), hat nun auch Whitesnake im Stall, so dass tatsächlich in halbwegs absehbarer Zeit mit einem Nachfolger zu deren 2008er-Opus "Good To Be Bad" gerechnet werden kann.

Coverdale said the production team for the new album will most likely be the infamous Brutal Brothers, or Los Bros Brutalos, who handled the recording of "Good To Be Bad”. “The new songs are in the very familiar and recognizable WHITESNAKE territory of soulful, bluesy, melodic power rock, with a couple of ballads thrown in for good measure... Allerdings, denn ein neues Label dürfte ein paar terminliche Vereinbarungen getroffen haben, so dass es hoffentlich nicht wieder Jahre dauert, bis man neue Songs zu Gehör bekommt...

Neuer Bassist bei Whitesnake: Michael Devin (Ex Lynch Mob) - und das Personalkarussell rotiert weiter, denn vor wenigen Tagen wurde bekannt gegeben, dass Keyboarder Timothy Drury zugunsten diverser Solo-Projekte bei den Aufnahmen zum neuen WS-Album nicht länger dabei sein wird. Nicht wenige Fans rufen nun bereits laut nach der Rückkehr eines gewissen älteren Herrn, der bereits bei Deep Purple und auch Whitesnake selbst (1978 bis 1984) die Hammond-Orgel bedient hat... www.jonlord.org

Ein Schelm, wer vermutet, dass es in letzter Zeit wieder einmal diverse persönliche Differenzen in der viel beschworenen Whitesnake-Family gegeben haben dürfte. Warten wir mit Spannung ab, ob Doug Aldrich und Reb Beach als Gitarrenfraktion das Ende der Aufnahmen erleben, immerhin halten sie nun schon seit 2003 mit Sir Coverdale durch.
